REFERENCE PROJECTS

Jihlavan currently delivers components to a number of domestic and international aircraft companies. Historically, it participated in producing aircraft that were developed in Czechoslovakia by companies such as Aero Vodochody and Let Kunovice. A new chapter in the company and its further development has opened by projects for Airbus, one of the two major aircraft manufacturers in the world.

Aircraft Airbus A350 XWB

Airbus A350 XWB is the latest and most sophisticated aircraft manufactured by Airbus. This twin-engine wide-body transport long-distance aircraft is the direct answer of Airbus to the Dreamliner project of its competitor, Boeing.
It is manufactured from over 70 % of advanced materials, of which 53 % are carbon composites. That is what makes it such a lightweight and efficient aircraft.
In its basic versions, the aircraft can transport between 270 and 350 passengers. The first aircraft were put into operation in 2015, and currently 44 end users operate them in their fleets.

  • The latest and most sophisticated aircraft manufactured by Airbus
  • Jihlavan as a single-source supplier for 2 out of 3 delivered components
  • A strategically important contract for deliveries to other major world producers of transport aircraft
  • A long-term contract for Jihlavan for the next 6 to 8 years, with a possible extension

Project

Jihlavan is engaged in the production of Airbus A350 XWB, as a Tier-2 supplier of 3 hydraulic units, 2 of which are supplied by the company as single source.
Jihlavan’s involvement in the project was made possible thanks to new technology and investment in production, principally in the portfolio of special chemical processes (e.g. surface treatments and non-destructive tests).
The first deliveries of A350 folding strut actuators were made in 2010. The first prototypes of the A350 main and nose undercarriage door actuators were delivered back in October 2016. In both cases, these are long-term contracts for 6–8 years, with possible extensions.
This project is also large-scale from the perspective of total sales. When fully implemented (based on Airbus A350 production), the yearly volume will represent more than CZK 100 million.
At the beginning of 2017, Airbus had more than 800 confirmed orders for these new A350 aircraft.
